The restrictions to understand first

Free is useful for judging candidate selection, but it has a watermark, no editing and a short export window. Paid access does not establish that the tool will select the right context for your audience. A clip can be technically complete and still leave out the qualification that made the original statement accurate.

The practical question is how much correction you need before publishing. Include caption fixes, framing, timing and any return to your main editor in that calculation. We have no measured correction-time data for Opus Clip, so previous claims that it was the fastest clipper have been removed.

What the current plans include

PlanMonthly billingAnnual billingMain allowance
Free$0Not needed60 credits/month
Starter$15/monthNot verified150 credits/month
Pro$29/month$174/year; $14.50/month equivalent300 credits/month

These are the amounts displayed on the official pricing page. An annual equivalent is not a monthly payment option. The listed Pro offer can change; read the renewal amount in checkout.

Starter removes the watermark and includes captions, editing and direct social posting. Pro adds native scheduling, export to Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, custom fonts and limited API access. The old claim that Opus requires an external scheduler is no longer accurate. The same pricing page has conflicting brand-template counts for Pro, so this review does not promise a fixed number.

Edit a clip around a complete idea

Consider an illustrative 40-minute interview about pricing freelance work. The target is three short clips, each answering a different question. Before uploading, mark one moment you would select yourself. That gives you a comparison point for the suggestions without treating agreement with a score as the objective.

Review the beginning and ending of each candidate before its styling. “I doubled it” is a weak opening if viewers do not know whether the speaker means a price, deadline or workload. Restore the sentence naming the subject. Likewise, if the speaker adds “but only for rush jobs” just after the proposed ending, keep that qualification. A shorter clip that changes the advice is a failed edit.

Next inspect the frame. When an interview becomes a screen share, the useful subject may move from a face to a spreadsheet. A vertical crop can hide the number being discussed. Adjust the layout or choose an excerpt that does not depend on unreadable detail. Caption accuracy cannot rescue a missing visual reference.

Only after the idea and crop work should you correct names and style captions. Watch the downloaded result at phone size and listen across every cut. The proposed pass condition is three understandable answers, correct terminology and no lost qualification. If only one candidate meets it, publish one and use the original recording for the rest; a batch size is not an editorial obligation.

Where the paid editor earns its keep

The current plan matrix allows selection of a clipping timeframe and clip length, and lists further editing on paid plans. Constrain the input to a useful part of the recording when introductions or unrelated segments dominate the first suggestions. Change one selection choice at a time so you can see whether it improves the candidates.

Free's lack of editing means it can demonstrate selection, but it cannot fully answer how quickly you can repair a draft. For a client workflow, test the paid correction and export route before promising delivery volume. On Pro, open the Premiere or Resolve export and check media references, captions and crop choices in the destination editor. A file that imports but requires reconstruction has not completed the handoff.

Judge the economics by accepted clips

Suppose you pay Starter's $15 monthly price and approve twelve clips during that month. The subscription allocation is $1.25 per accepted clip. If you approve only three, it is $5 each. This calculation intentionally uses accepted output; it is not a forecast of how many clips the credit allowance generates. Record processing usage and correction time alongside that count.

Choose Pro when scheduling, editor export or capacity addresses a real requirement. The annual offer lowers the equivalent price but commits more cash before you know your workflow. If you already know the exact three timestamps and need only simple trims, your existing editor may finish the job without another subscription.

Cancellation and alternatives

Opus Clip's terms describe cancellation through account settings, continued access to the end of the current term and no prorated subscription refund. Treat a yearly purchase as a commitment, not an extended free trial.

The Opus Clip versus Quso comparison examines two clipping-and-publishing bundles. The Munch comparison is more relevant if you want a business content plan as well as clips.

Try Opus Clip with a source you can judge. Upgrade when the tested workflow needs a paid feature, rather than because a clip receives a high score.

Frequently asked questions

Does Opus Clip have a free plan?

Yes. The pricing page lists 60 credits each month, watermarked output, no editing and clips that stop being exportable after three days.

Can Opus Clip schedule posts?

Yes. Native social scheduling is listed on Pro. Starter includes direct posting, which is different from scheduling a future post.

Does Pro include an API?

The current pricing page lists limited API access on Pro and custom API integrations on Business. Confirm the exact limits for your intended integration.

Does a virality score guarantee views?

No performance guarantee is established by this research. Use a score to organize review, then judge context and usefulness yourself.
