About
Honest reviews. No sponsored takes.
CreatorStack is an independent editorial project covering AI tools for working creators — YouTubers, podcasters, short-form operators. We pay for every subscription we review. We don't accept free trial extensions from vendors. If a competitor is better, we say so.
What we actually do
We subscribe to an AI creator tool, use it on our own work, read every real-world complaint thread we can find, and write what we actually think. Pricing math goes first, not last. Weaknesses come before strengths. If the free tier is a trap, we name the trap.
So far we've published 16 full reviews, plus head-to-head comparisons, category round-ups, and how-to guides. Every article links to a dated fact sheet with the URLs we scraped to verify pricing and feature limits. We update fact sheets when prices change.
What we don't do
- We don't take vendor-supplied review copies. Every subscription runs on our own card.
- We don't do sponsored reviews. No tool pays to be featured. If a tool gets a 4.5/5 rating, it's because we think it's worth 4.5/5.
- We don't hide affiliate links. Every article with an affiliate link carries a disclosure above the fold.
- We don't invent facts we can't verify. If a tool's pricing is behind a signup wall, we tell you and flag the uncertainty instead of guessing.
- We don't write "top 10" listicles. Our best-of round-ups route you to a specific pick for a specific persona. Nobody needs another "top 10 amazing AI tools" post.
How we rate
Ratings are 0.0–5.0 in 0.5 increments. They're our opinion after hands-on use, not a Wirecutter-style composite score. A 4.5 means we'd recommend it without caveats to its target persona. A 3.5 means we'd recommend it only if you match a specific use case — we explain which one. A 3.0 means we'd hesitate.
We don't grade on a curve against the industry. A tool gets the rating it deserves against a clear-eyed reader's expectations.
Affiliate disclosure
Some of the links on CreatorStack are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. Commissions vary by program and are disclosed on request. They don't change what we write. We'd give the same recommendation either way. If the best tool for your use case is one without an affiliate program (and that happens often), we tell you anyway.
Every article that contains an affiliate link carries a disclosure block above the fold, and every affiliate CTA routes through /api/go/[linkId]which 302-redirects to the vendor's site. We don't use aggressive popups, exit intents, or pre-filled coupon codes that aren't real.
What we're bad at (honestly)
We're new. We don't have domain authority, brand recognition, or a YouTube channel. We haven't ranked for competitive keywords yet. If you're reading this, you found us through a friend, a Twitter thread, or a long-tail search — not because we outranked an established site.
We're building slowly. More reviews every week. Category expansion based on what readers ask for. If there's a tool you want us to test, tell us — contact details below.
