At a glance
Suno’s October 28 MCP beta lets supported AI assistants create and remix songs through your Suno account. It accepts early-access signups across Suno plans and consumes existing credits. The host app may require a paid connector plan; exporting a track still follows Suno’s download and usage conditions.
You can discuss a video’s mood in an AI chat, then lose that context when you open a music tool. Suno’s October 28 MCP beta connects the conversation to a Suno account so the assistant can request a song without starting the brief again. MCP is the connection standard between the assistant and the music service. Release note.
The beta supports conversational creation, audio starting points such as your own voice memo, and covers, extensions or mashups from your library. Generated songs return to that library. This is an account-connected workflow, rather than a separate promise of unrestricted music API access.
Two accounts can set the access rules
Suno’s connection FAQ describes signing in and approving access without supplying an API key. The beta takes early-access signups across Suno plans, but your assistant’s own plan may restrict connectors. Paying for one side does not establish access to the other.
For a proposed first task, keep an original project brief in the chat and ask for one musical direction. Listen before requesting a batch of variations. If the result has the wrong pace, change that instruction first; repeating the same vague brief only spends more attempts. No connector or generation was tested for this article.
A song in the library is not yet an export
MCP creation uses existing Suno credits. Downloading follows a separate allowance. Suno’s download policy, effective September 3, lists 20 monthly downloads for Pro and 60 for Premier, with a Studio exception for Premier subscribers. Free trial downloads are for personal use; the policy describes commercial rights for songs downloaded on paid plans. The support FAQ explains what counts as a download.
Before placing a track in client work, confirm the account’s applicable download and usage conditions. Keep the library link while you decide which version deserves an export. Our Suno Albums coverage concerns publishing a collection inside Suno; the Descript guide covers a later editing stage.
Common questions
Questions people ask.
- Does all-plan availability mean everyone has immediate access?
- No. The release invites early-access signups. Suno also notes that some host apps restrict custom connectors to particular paid plans.
- Are credits and downloads the same allowance?
- No. MCP songs consume existing Suno generation credits. Exporting a song follows the separate download allocation and usage conditions for the account.
