Runway’s October 2 update adds 480p Seedance 2.5 drafts in Agent and Ideogram 4.5 image generation through MCP. Use drafts to review shot direction before enhancement; check your plan and the complete generation cost first.

A video draft is useful when it answers a production question before you spend time refining the wrong shot. Runway’s October 2, 2026 updates add Seedance 2.5 Draft mode to Agent, plus Ideogram 4.5 image generation in MCP. We checked the changes on October 4.
Agent’s drafts are 480p, with enhancement after generation. Runway labels the draft feature for all plans and says the toggle can be suggested automatically. The Ideogram integration carries a paid-plan label. These are two different entry points: a conversational video workflow and an image tool connected to an agent. Runway’s dated changelog.
Review the shot before polishing it
Our interpretation is that drafts are most useful for decisions about framing, movement and timing. A rough shot can reveal that the product leaves the frame or that the camera move fights the intended cut. More detail would make those mistakes sharper without making the shot more usable.
For an illustrative trial, imagine a five-second product reveal intended to cut into a vertical ad. Start with one draft and check three things: does the product remain identifiable, does the movement finish where the next shot begins, and is there enough space for the caption? Revise a failed composition before enhancing a candidate. We have not executed this trial or measured the savings.
Runway describes faster, cheaper iteration, but its release entry supplies no numerical draft rate or complete draft-plus-enhancement price. The checked pricing page explains that credit costs depend on model, duration and resolution; Free includes 125 one-time credits. Do not interpret an all-plan feature label as unlimited free generation. Runway pricing and credit FAQ.
Ideogram reaches another workflow surface
MCP is a connection through which an assistant can discover and call tools. Ideogram 4.5 support therefore matters to readers who already create images through a connected Runway workflow. The announcement does not, by itself, establish a new public API endpoint, exact model identifier or quality advantage over another image model. Integration announcement.
Before changing a reusable workflow, inspect which image controls it exposes and whether the model appears in your account. A prompt that produces a useful thumbnail still needs checks for readable text, correct branding and the intended crop. An integration’s presence is only the first of those checks.
Next action: try one bounded draft with a clear shot acceptance test, inspect its cost and the enhancement estimate, then decide whether to expand. Continue with the Runway guide for the wider tool choice or the AI B-roll workflow to plan where generated shots fit in an edit.
